How to become an authority site
I am in the planning stages of developing a new website that will target a mid size niche that does not appear to have a real leading authority site and I want to become the authority site for this topic, I am looking for any suggestions that would help it to become a true authority in the eyes of the big three search engines.
My current list:
1. Get listed in all of the major directories (i.e. Dmoz, yahoo, wikipedia, etc)
2. Get as many related incomming links as possible
3. All content will be unique to the site and updated often
4. Quality press release
5. Aged domain if possible will be used
6. Publish high quality articles about the topic
7. Looking into the possibility of hiring an expert in the field to run a blog/forum on the site
8. No advertising will be placed on the site for at least one year
9. RSS news feed to keep current with the latest information on the topic along with original comments about any breaking stories.
10. Buy long term high pr links from sites that relate in topic.
11. Register domain name for a long period of time (ten years)
12. use static html as much as possible, making sure to be free of any errors, and only use basic white hat seo when coding the site
