Product Reviews

For those of you who run websites where you post articles on products you have reviewed, how do you get the products? Do you just to various websites and send a letter to them asking for products to be reviewed, do you buy the product with your own money? If you request free products for review what do you say in the letter?

I have another site, pdacenter.net, where we have done some reviews. Normally, someone who already has the device writes the review. It is getting very difficult to get products because there are so many review sites now. Unless you have a large following, or are dealing with a relatively new company, there is not much chance of getting a free product to review.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I've gotten products many years ago (about 4 or 5) but that was through another company that no longer exists. I wish I had their paperwork for it. They had some really nice request forms.
