Default Site sold but no contact..

Sorry if this is the wrong section, but I would like to hear some peoples thoughts. I sold a website on e-bay, the closing date was May 11th, and payment was recieved on May 12th. Now I have tried contacting the person about every three days for the first two weeks and then I was just sending a weekly e-mail trying to get a hold of him. The site is still sitting on my server eating up resources and I am unable to get a hold of the customer to finish the transfer of the site.

So should I keep waiting? I had two people contact me after the sale of the site saying if the sale didn't go through they would like it. I am hesitent to resell it since the one person paid, but it has been over a month now and I can't get a hold of the person. How long should I wait?

this is a difficult position to be in

ive actually been in the same position (well i sort of still am)

i sold a site last year to a large domain brokering site. They paid very promptly but asked if they could wait a few weeks to transfer the site over to themselves. I had no problem with this.

I contacted them a month later and advised that they had still not downloaded the site from my server or actioned the domain transfer

they thanked me for contacting them again and said they would proceed with it. They didnt and still havent. Ive still got the site - i put up a banner to my site on it and the site is small so its worth keeping around. When they get back to me ill send them the site.

With your situation i would do one of 2 things

1) keep the site hosted with yourself and contine to profit via banner impressions etc

or

2) refund the money to the guy and just sell it to someone else

let us all know how you get on

I wouldn't mind if the person would atleast return my e-mails. I can't get a response no matter what. That is what is making it hard for me on what to do. I kinda hate to refund the money, but at the same time I hate just having it sit there.

Refund it or the guy will end up giving you a bad rating. Bad ratings on eBay are just not good, especially for selling websites.
